Ava and Squishy are back and this time their adorable chaos hits Christmas preparations for Mum, Dad, baby Roo, the local Christmas fete and much, much more...In her letter to Santa, Ava only has one wish. Will she get what her heart desires on Christmas day? Rising star Pip Jones continues to give her quirky twist to everyday experiences in this warm and humorous series. The jaunty rhyming text is perfect for reading aloud, and Ella Okstad's gorgeous, distinctive illustrations will help more confident readers learn to read by themselves for the first time.
The festive fourth book in this fantastically successful new series for 4-6-year-old readers about Ava and her imaginary cat, in hilarious rhyming text with adorable illustrations. Told in full colour throughout, this is the perfect stepping stone from picture books to older fiction.
Pip Jones lives in East London with her partner, her two daughters and a real invisible cat (it doesn't catch mice, but it doesn't need a litter tray either, so there are pros and cons). She writes a lot. She even owns a writing cloak! And she spends days on end working out how to get good rhymes, such as 'snuffle' and 'kerfuffle', into stories. Pip won the inaugural Greenhouse Funny Prize in 2012 with Squishy McFluff, The Invisible Cat, her first book. Ella Okstad returned to her native Norway after graduating from the Kent Institute of Art and Design in 2000 where she now illustrates children's books for both Norwegian and British publishers. Squishy is her first imaginary cat.
